by  Andy Rooney       If you will take the time to read these. I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective. The subjects covered affect us all on a daily basis:  They're written by the late Andy Rooney ( ex-60 Minutes USA), a man who had the  gift of saying so much with so few words. Enjoy......           I've  learned... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly  person.       I've  learned... That when you're in love, it shows.       I've  learned... That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!' makes my  day.       I've  learned... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most  peaceful feelings in the world.       I've  learned... That being kind is more important than being...

Keep Smiling Card - English
We received this today, and wanted to share it with our KS Community... Hi, I was at my local hospital (Albert Einstein Medical Center in Elkins Park PA) and I came across one of your keep smiling cards. I wanted to say I was happy to had found it sitting there on the counter, I have been under some medical stress lately and trying to get healthy, and finding this did put a smile on my face. I am a spiritual person and really believe that there is a God who cares about each individual life and soul that travels this planet. I actually find it interesting, and affirming as I have recently closed my s corp because of difficulties to pursue a lifestyle of serving people in need in some fashion. Be that an encouraging word, a simple correspondence or meeting for prayer or companionship on a professional level. I...

Meet Molly
She's a gray speckled pony who was abandoned by her owners when Hurricane Katrina hit southern Louisiana . She spent weeks on her own before finally being rescued and taken to a farm where abandoned animals were stockpiled.
While there, she was attacked by a dog and almost died. Her gnawed right front leg became infected, and her vet went to LSU for help, but LSU was overwhelmed, and this pony was a welfare case. You know how that goes.

But after surgeon Rustin Moore met Molly, he changed his mind. He saw how the pony was careful to lie down on different sides so she didn't seem to get sores, and how she allowed people to handle her.She protected her injured leg.She constantly shifted her weight and didn't overload her good leg.She was a smart pony with a serious survival ethic.

Moore agreed to remove her leg below the knee, and a temporary artificial limb was built. Molly walked out of the clinic and her story really begins there.

'This was the right horse and the right owner,' Moore insists. Molly happened to be a one-in-a-million patient.
She's tough as nails, but sweet, and she was willing to cope with pain. She made it obvious she understood that she was in trouble. The other important factor, according to Moore , is having a truly committed and compliant owner who is dedicated to providing the daily care required over the lifetime of the horse.

Molly's story turns into a parable for life in Post-Katrina Louisiana ........

The little pony gained weight, and her mane finally felt a comb.A human prosthesis designer built her a leg. The prosthetic has given Molly a whole new life, Allison Barca DVM, Molly's regular vet, reports.

Smiling could be good for your health.   Researchers are finding that wearing a smile brings certain benefits, like slowing down the heart and reducing stress. This may even happen when people aren't aware they are forming a smile, according to a recent study. The work follows research that established that the act of smiling can make you feel happier. Some research suggests only a full and genuine smile affects the body in positive ways. Other studies, though, indicate even a polite smile may be beneficial. Frowning also may have a health effect: Preventing people from frowning, such as with the use of Botox, can help alleviate depression, a recent study found. of the study on frowning. Kyle Gorjanc, of Brooklyn, N.Y., regularly runs for exercise and long-distance training. After seeing race photos of herself grimacing, Ms. Gorjanc, 32 years old, began about a year ago making a conscious effort to...
